MI growers: Check out these upcoming meetings

UPPER MIDWEST: Mother Nature has already proven that the winter season is not going to be a light one. In mid-Michigan, some areas have been buried underneath more than two feet of snow, while other areas suffered from a terrible ice storm that left nearly 100,000 without power for several days. As we drive through southeast and mid-Michigan, corn still stands in some fields – covered in snow now, of course. Although this may be a concern for growers as we begin the 2014 season, there are many activities and meetings in the coming days that can help us prepare.

On a related note, for those interested in becoming a certified crop adviser, the CCA exam is Aug. 1 at the Holiday Inn Express in Okemos, MI. Registration opens May 5. More information and registration can be found online.
